. To clean fragile leather book bindings, use the Cleaning Regenerating Soap below, which does not contain either solvents or caustic soda and respects the leather( but always test before on a hidden part).
. It is not advisable to use polish products formulated for shoes because of their high pigment content. We recommend our  Renovator Saphir Médaille d'Or below, an aqueaous formula which will respect the leather, keep it supple and protect it.
For leather which needs a refreshing of the colour opt for our Cream Shoe Polish Pommadier Saphir Médaille d'Or 1925, which is available in various colour shades. It's a formula for shoes, but recommended by our clients who renovate antique books. Its composition is based on different waxes and fully solvented, which allows it to penetrate even thick leather in-depth without clogging it up.

For special types of leather, we recommend the following products:

- smooth leathers, box, lamb : use Renovator  NAPPA Saphir Médaille d'or
- ostrich, peccary, matt leather,  : Delicate Cream Polish SAPHIR
- Barenia, glazed leather : choose Gel Polish Saphir
- crocodile, reptile : choose  Polish REPTAN Saphir for usual care and Varnish RIFE Saphir for giving back shine to the varnish.

- cordovan leatherCream Shoe Polish CORDOVAN Saphir Médaille d'Or

- patent leather : Varnish RIFE Saphir.

- braided, pearly, metalized leather: Gel Polish

If you need to recolour certain discoloured or scratched  areas of your leather , opt for Renovating Cream below. It is a fast-drying  resin pigment concentrate, and can be easily applied after your leather has been cleaned and nourrished., see below.
